During the first Vis Moot held in person since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020, the Vindobona Journal has celebrated its 25th anniversary on 31 March 2023 with a special panel as part of the Moot Alumni Association’s Annual International Commercial Law and Arbitration Conference in Vienna.
The overarching theme of this Jubilee Panel was “Synergies between the Vis Moot and the Vindobona Journal: A Success Story of 25+ Years”. Our stellar panel consisted of former members of the VJ editorial team, authors who published with the VJ, and ardent supporters of the Vis Moot community who shared their thoughts on the following topics:
1) Associate Professor Dr Lisa Spagnolo: “Not just hypothetical: an overview of Vis Moot problems and their interaction with CISG scholarship and cases”
2) Natascha Tunkel: “The bigger picture: tying the merits and the procedure”
3) Elisabeth Opie: “The practice of international law, and law internationally”
4) Dr Tom Christopher Pröstler: “Arbitration is confidential – or is it?”
5) Eric Ng: “Third party funding – from concept to practice”
Our very own Oguzhan Samanci, Editor-in-Chief of the Vindobona Journal, moderated the panel.
We thank our panelists for their insightful contributions and for celebrating this special occasion with us.
